After 14 years of ministry to Pratts Bottom, our associate vicar Canon Penny Avann and our evangelist Thema Jones will be leaving the village. Penny is retiring and they will be moving away. Their last weekend here will be mid July.
There will be a Farewell Event for them on Saturday 16 July in the Village Hall from 2.30 to 5pm. This will be a “drop in” style afternoon tea. For an idea of numbers please let Brenda Johnson know by email to lancejohnson100 (at) hotmail.com or phone 858840.
Get Christmas sorted on Saturday 21 November by buying your presents at the Pratts Bottom Christmas Market. There will be crafts, cards and delightful gifts for all your family and friends. Be there or be square…
All the archives Sue Short collected in the four years leading up to 2009 were displayed in the middle part of the village hall. The material was collected when Sue was researching the history of the village for her book: … Continue reading →
Penny Avann writes, “Alan’s funeral will be on Wednesday, 19th August. The service will be in two parts:
Tunbridge Wells Crematorium at 10.45am
Pratts Bottom Village Hall at 1.00pm, followed by a ploughman’s lunch in the hall.
While the family are happy for anyone to come to the crematorium, it is likely that most people locally will want to go to the village hall. Phillip Southby will be at the hall and I will be in touch with him should there be any delay in us returning here with the tractor procession.
Gill has asked if people could wear bright colours. No flowers please, but there will be an opportunity, for those who would like to, to make a donation to charity (Marie Curie and an other which supports bereaved families in the farming community).
Please continue to remember the family in your prayers.”
This year is the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and the Village Hall committee is arranging a celebratory meal on Friday 19th June. Tables of 6 for a 3 course meal with tea/coffee costing £20.00 a head.
Another year has gone by and it is time for the Annual General Meeting of the Pratts Bottom Village Hall. It will be held on Wednesday 20th May 2015 at 7.30pm for 8.00pm start. A chance to hear what has been going on over the past year in the maintenance of the building and how it is used by a variety of users and to present the Charitable Trust’s Annual Report and Accounts.
We look forward to seeing as many people as possible on the 20th May.
