Pratts Bottom traditional village fete is held in May and features a parade, including the new May Queen, her followers and May Queens from other districts. This year there are 36 stalls on the green, some selling crafts, some games, tombolas, etc. and 8 stalls in the village hall. Also featured are: a bouncy castle, charity organ, Punch and Judy shows, Crazee Hazy on his stilts, a steam train running on the green, Thomas Tank engine in the hall and a new game with fantastic prizes – Pot of Gold.
The fete will start with a fancy dress procession at 11.30 from the Broke Farm Drive Recreation Ground. The fete will be opened by the new May Queen, Zoe McDonald, after she has been crowned by last year’s May Queen, Maddy Freestone. If you want to help please just turn up from 8.00 at the village green.
Note Rushmore Hill will be closed to traffic from 11.30 for about 30 minutes for the procession. There will then be normal 2-way traffic through the village but you are asked not to park between Hookwood Road and the A21 roundabout.
The fete committee is chaired by Lesley Jones, phone 01689 854204 or email lesleynigel (at) yahoo.co.uk.
