Jo Johnson, our MP, has written to advise that following consultations with Arriva the hourly bus service between Tunbride Wells to Bromley will now continue. HOORAY!
Supplementary Consultation on plans to introduce a new landing system for Runway 03 at Biggin Hill Airport
London Biggin Hill Airport plans to install an all-weather aircraft guidance system for flights landing at the airport from the south west.
We consulted widely on these proposals between November 2015 and February 2016. That Consultation Document and the Post Consultation report – which collated all the responses to the original consultation – are in the airport’s website and remain available at www.bigginhillairport.com/stakeholder-consultation
The original consultation determined that further work was necessary to resolve some technical details with other airspace users, including Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. That work is ongoing.
In the meantime, we (Biggin Hill Airport) are proposing an amendment to the last few miles of the approach route, which more closely follows the line of existing transport infrastructure such as the A23 trunk road and the M25. This supplementary consultation is specifically about that amendment.
This consultation, which runs for a six-week period from 27th February until mid-April 2017, is being conducted in accordance with the procedures laid down by the Cabinet Office and the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
We hereby invite you to respond to the consultation as a constituency, local government, interest group or airspace user group representative – or as a neighbour or other stakeholder.
Please go to: www.bigginhillairport.com/stakeholder-consultation
to access the consultation document and for guidance as to how you can respond.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Arriva has decided to stop the 402 bus at Dunton Green with effect from 17 July so we will lose our hourly service to/from Bromley. The R5/R10 service to Orpington has been progressivly cut back, so according to our councillor Lydia Buttinger, “Pratts Bottom must be one of the most poorly serviced communities in London for bus services.” Unlike other parts of London we can’t take the tube, tram or DLR.
A suggestion has been made to extend the R1 and/or R11 from Green Street Green to the Pratts Bottom roundabout. This would add only 5 minutes to the route and would transform public transport for our residents. If you support this proposal or have any other comments on the PB bus services, please email CUSTOMERSERVICES@TFL.GOV.UK quoting reference 7413688.
