Pratts Bottom: Past, Present and Future Exhibition, 3 October

Sue ShortAll the archives Sue Short collected in the four years leading up to 2009 were displayed in the middle part of the village hall. The material was collected when Sue was researching the history of the village for her book: PRATTS BOTTOM – A JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE. All the archives have been donated to the village and will be stored in the village hall where they can be displayed at future exhibitions. Old photographs of the village were displayed in the form of slides projected onto the screen on the stage.

‘How did the village get its unusual name?’
Maps and reference books were displayed to help answer that question.

Albums containing photographs of Pratts bottom May fetes; fairs and processions along with posters were displayed.

Photographs and other archive material represented memories of childhood during the Second World War to 1970s.
