IT IS VITAL EVERYONE ATTENDS THE “CALL-IN” MEETING
The Call-in has been successfully launched by 12 councillors and as a consequence at 7pm on Tuesday 5th January 2015, the Executive and Resources Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee will sit to scrutinise the decision. There are 15 councillors who sit on the committee and using the voting on the 25th November as a guide 9 voted for the additional hours and 6 voted against, so you can see how important it is for the scrutiny to be forensic in an effort to alter opinions. We understand this will be a public meeting and Flightpath Watch Supporters are encouraged to attend. Please also play your part in encouraging local friends and neighbours who have similar views to attend. We are not yet sure if witnesses will be required to give evidence, but we are hopeful and have warned our professional advisors to keep the date free.
We will watch keenly the process leading to the call-in. We will be considering further work with consultants (including legal consultants) to provide information to the councillors who have called in the decision as well as study the possibility of a legal challenge. The latter was postponed last March because the decision was not yet final but we are considering this possibility again now, on the basis of the irregularities which have become apparent.
Please be there!
